How to get rid of info in MS Office 2000 Splash Screen?

I'm talking about the momentary "splash" screen when you open Word or Excel. It has your name and company.

I've changed companies and uninstalled and reinstalled the software on a laptop to accomplish changing this information in the past.
However, that isn't working on my desktop and I'm sick of uninstalling and reinstalling the software. It no longer prompts for this info upon reinstallation. I want to change the default "mycompany" to a blank space. I've searched the registry. I've uninstalled the software, I've "wiped" my unused disk space and ran a cleaner in addition to defragging it.

Can anyone help me with this petty annoyance?

if you can't find it in the registry, you'll probably have to format, because that's where it is (and where it remains). try searching specifically for "mycompany" (or whatever the current value is). be sure and search keys AND values. a little bit of poking around in the applications (=>microsoft=>office=>etc) might yield some results as well.
