how to get rid of hiding menus in w2k

you know how you go to start and windows hides all the menus that aren't used recently? I hate it! I have to go click on that arrow on the bottom to reveal the full menu. This happens in Internet Explorer's bookmarks as well. How do I get rid of this and have it display everything all the time?

thanks

Although I couldn't tell you for sure, but I would imagine there's probably a registry key that looks at the last date used area of eack one of those folders. I'm pretty sure that this could be disabled. Hmm, maybe I'll go see if I can dig up a real answer for you.

In IE, Tools->Internet Options->Advanced. Uncheck "Enable Personalized Favorites Menu".

In Outlook, Right-click on the menu bar, choose customize. Uncheck "Menus show recently used commands first".

In Win2k, Start->Settings->Taskbar & Start menu. Uncheck "Use personalized menus".

I'm 80% sure there is no gui option to disable those smart menus. I have looked everywhere in Win2k.

Time to run a Reg scan.

I am 100% sure this can be changed using the prefs for SEVERAL applications (thanks a lot, MS). See Julio's post.
