I'll try some of those traps i guess...
No need for traps, because they will die off within a few days with out food. Fruit flies lifespan is around 5 weeks therefore keep your fruits in the refrigerator to prevent it from fermentation (yeast is fruit flies food).

Back in 'Nam, we used to just spray everything with Agent Orange.

uh, agent orange is a herbicide, for killing off all the vegitation that the commies were hiding behind. it won't do anything to a bug

you need an incecticide for bugs, like DDT

What's the best way to get rid of them?

SPIDERS! My friends. Whenever a fly gets into my place, I chase it into the bathroom where Wolfie lives.

It sounds like you are going to need a whole lot of SPIDERS or one really big one.

1. You have to remove the source of food and spawning
2. Kill as many of em off as you can or they'll continue to mate and never go away
