My OS is Win98SE and I recently uninstalled Microsoft Office Pro 2000 following Microsoft's instructions on their website. I then installed OfficeXP pro. When I uninstalled Office 2000, the arrows on the deskyop icons returned. I had been using TweakUi to remove them previously. TweakUI no longer seems effective. After uninstalling Office 2000, Outlook Express 6 no longer worked. This too had to be uninstalled and reinstalled via Microsoft's web site instructions.
Any ideas how I can get rid of the arrows on icons on my desktop?

Let me try again. I had been using TweakUI to remove the arrows. Now that I removed Office 2ooo, the arrows came back. Tweakui no longer is effective removing the arrows.

I have removed Tweakui and added X-Setup. But I do not find an option in this program which allows me to remove the arrows on the desktop icons. Can you guide me to the proper way to use XSetup to remove the arrows on the Icons?
Thanks

X-Xetup > Launch X-Setup default UI > Appearance > Files & Folders > Shortcuts > Shortcut Arrow > Click "Yes" at the warning pop-up > Uncheck "Display arrow on shortcuts (*.ink)" > Apply Changes (F9).
