My school has a firewall set that blocks all FTP traffic. I have tried one program called http-tunnel, but didnt have very much success. Could someone please help me come up with a way to get past this?

It would be nice to eventually be able to do both, but for now just download from ftp, and use programs such as directconnect and audiogalaxy...

So, your school has set up a firewall and you want to work around it? Try asking the sysadmins, and be sure to heed what they say. Are you prepared to risk expulsion by deliberately doing this? You can always get a non-school account and download to your heart's content....

Oh boy, another script kiddie looking for advice.

Your school has the firewall for a reason. They do not want or need you using up their bandwidth by downloading mp3's. They most certainlywould not want you to place an FTP server on their LAN either. This has the possilbility of opening security holes, and since I figure you're new to the idea of setting up a secure FTP server you would open up quite a few.

Why don't you wait until you can pay for your own connection and leave the school's alone????
