Ok, I tried the clay bar, I tried 2000 grit wet sanding (on my daily driver to test of course ;)). I can't seem to get out the swirls that rubbing compound put in my finish! (Tried to get out a scratch) I wet sanded on the daily driver with 2000 grit/water to test what it would do, now looks like CRAP! Now there is a big spot that looks like a different color! Obvious swirls, etc. Rubbing compound put the swirls on my camaro and i'm testing on my daily driver to be sure i don't screw up on my camaro. WHAT TO DO!!!!

WET SANDING.

If you feel like spending money on it, take it to a paint shop and have them wet sand it.

do you know what you're doing to wetsand it?

you may have very well fux0red your car

if the swirls are bad take it to a pro auto detailer and have him take a buffer to it

scratches take it to a body shop and have em wetsadn it

I tried rubbing compound initially, this is what caused the swirls!! I then tried 2000 grit wet sanding with polish paper, no good. It seems nothing wants to work!

All of that stuff is way too abrasive for cars with clearcoat finishs (even if it says clearcoat safe) ....you need to have a professional buff it out. Some of the clearcoat may be gone now (if it is clearcoated that is)

well, i figured as much, that is why I tested the wet sanding on the daily driver. I could care less about it's paint! ;)

This is all you need. This website is great and they are really kind to newbies. They have tons of tutorials and articles. I picked up quite a few tips.

The first tip you will learn is to use Zaino products.
