Installed this sucker on my HP4101 lappy (Athlon XP1600 + DDR). Pacific Digital 32x12x48x USB 2.0/1.1 External CD-RW Drive and it would'nt work at all... Should this run by simply plugging it in and installing driver? I thought WIN XP didn't need a driver w/USB?? Also, is their a card I need to utilize 2.0 USB? Thank you kindly.

It should work without any additional drivers (and should work at USB 2.0 because it is capable of both). However WinXP does need to be upgraded with Service Pack 1 in order for USB2.0 ports to work. However if you meant your laptop is only USB1.1, then the drive will only work at USB1.1 and should plug in and work fine immediately, as long as the USB ports are properly detected and working. To use USB 2.0 in that case you'd need to get a PCCard USB2.0 adapter.
