How to get Media Player to open MINIMIZED

I am not sure that this is exactly an operating system question but it is sort of related.

What I am wanting to do is to play a file with the Windows media player application (Win2000) at bootup. But I want the media player to open and remain minimized on the task bar. How do I do this ? Is this possible ?

I have tried placing the properties to minimize on the task bar icon, on the programs menu icon and on the program that is located on the drive media player directory/folder, but the program always opens in the NORMAL mode. Am I missing an instance of the program that is causing it to open in the NORMAL mode ?
