How to get mail off Exchange server 2003

Ok i was WAY over my head here.
I had a grand idea to setup my own server at home to host web, email and ftp stuff.
Got it setup fine and added my 3 "client" computers to the mix.

Well crap started happening and i did not know how to fix, now i have redone all the computers to be off the server and have taken it down.

Now to the prob
My wife and i have 200+ emails ea on the exchange server setting here but i cannot find how to get them off ther server itself. Where are they stored and can i access or move them to our computers without "syncing" it backup with the server to screw things up again???

the email is stored in the priv.edb and priv.stm files

Unless you connect a mail client to your server and import to a pst file, you will need a program that can read the edb database format, which is a modified MS Access engine. Ontrack Powertools does this, but costs money and the demo won't let you do it for real.

If you could get the server to run, the utility Exmerge will pull individual users email out to a .pst.

no such files or folders found??

Turn on view all hidden files and system files to find them. They are located in 'program files\exchsvr' if I remember right.
