How to get into win98 safe mode on a dual boot with Win2k????

I most be missing the obvious here, but I haven't figured it out yet. I have a dual boot with Win98 first ed. and Win2k. If I want to get into 98 safe mode on start up by pressing F8, it sends me to Win2k safe mode. How do I get into 98 safe mode?
Thanks for responses

maybe at the dual boot prompt, select win98, then after a few seconds of going down the win98 pathway, hit f8.

I've tried that AG73. The problem is, as soon as I choose 98, I'm already into the 98 splash screen and have missed the initial loading period where I can opt to go into safe mode. I've tried any number of ways to get it to go into 98 safe mode and it always goes to 2K.
Anyone have a clue?

even when you are at the dual boot prompt and you hit F8, i thought there was an advanced options setting where win2k's dual boot load will let you boot win98 safe mode, at least I thought so.

Thanks for the replies. I figured it out as hominid skull suggested. I had had to practice at it cause it is a critical matter of timing. Now I can safely fix some things in 98 that I wasn't able to do before.
Thanks again.

Or simply hold down Shift while you press Enter on Windows 98 in the boot menu. No critical timing necessary.

Best regards,
Floyd
