I've tired most every key it seems and it just says "invalid system disk" ..... the machine posts and checks the RAM, but i can't get it to boot from a floppy, cd-rom, or hard drive.

Most Latitudes use the F2 key. Sometimes you'll have to you CTRL-ALT-S for generics like Sager and Metrobook.

Other keys to try include ESC, F1, DEL, and holding down a key before you turn the machine on and leave it down until you get a keyboard error.

On my Latitude CPx you hit F2 to enter setup. You can find system documentation by going to support.dell.com as well. Goodluck.

If I don't know I usually just mash keys that I know could be it such as F1 F2 del and so on. Also an old acer I worked on was Ctl-Alt-Esc
