Hi,
I was just fiddling around with the config files in C&C Generals, and noticed that you can raise the resolution higher than what the in game menus allow. I`ve tryed upping it to 1280x1024, and it works, and C&C Generals looks so much better.
The file that you need to edit is called Options.ini
located in "My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data"
Look for resolution in the list of settings, and set it to what you want.

Just thought i`d share this with you.

I would`nt have normally bothered looking for something like that, but for some reason, in the C&C menus, the resolution only goes upto 1100 something, and ive gota a 17" TFT, so i needed 1280 for it to look sharp.

Nice find!

Hmmm I changed the resolution to 1280 1024 in that file, but when I go to option it still shows 1152 868

set it to this:

AntiAliasing = 2
CampaignDifficulty = 0
FirewallBehavior = 1
FirewallNeedToRefresh = FALSE
FirewallPortAllocationDelta = 0
GameSpyIPAddress = 0.0.0.0
Gamma = 50
IPAddress = 0.0.0.0
IdealStaticGameLOD = High
LanguageFilter = false
MusicVolume = 98
Resolution = 1280 1024
SFX3DVolume = 97
SFXVolume = 87
ScrollFactor = 50
SendDelay = no
StaticGameLOD = High
VoiceVolume = 98

What will this do?
It resolution hack wont change what is in the options menu, but you can tell its running at a higher resolution, cos its more crisp. It looks amazing on my TFT. Before i thought that the GFX were ok, but not as good as people made out, now with it running at 1280x1024, it looks amazing. You`ve gotta admit though, its a bad call by Westwood to limit the resolution.
