How to get high res icons

i know how to resize my icons in the registry.. thast about it.

in XP?
right click desktop->properties somewhere in there, i think under effects there is "show icons using all possible colors" or something

then you can go to "appearance" and "advanced" and change the icon size there without editing the registry
