How to get her off your mind...?

K,
Here is the deal. I met my ex when I was a junior in High School. I am not a Junior in College. We dated all throughout High School untill about a year and a half ago. I was getting overly frustrated that my gf insisted on hanging out with only guys. I understood that she needed time away from me with just her regular friends, but not one girl was among those regular friends. We decided to take a break. This was basically 3 years after we started dating. Now, for about the next 3 weeks after we started this break, my ex was pretty much completely ignoring me. She would make plans with me and then break them to go do stuff with "other people". I said fine whatever, just let me know when youve met someone else so I can act accordingly to go on with my life. Well after 3 weeks she went to a x-mas party and messed around with someone. Atleast he had the respect to tell me the next day. But i just kinda broke then. Turns out that "other people" was really one guy who was taking her out. I decided to leave for good. And she began her relationship with that guy she messed around with. It was hard but I didn't call or anything untill 2 months later when my friend told me he thinks I shoudl give her a call. So I did and we started talking again. They eneded up going out for about 8 months, then it kinda fell apart and my ex tried to come back to me. I was still madly in love with her so I went with it. Unfortunately she though that I should be over the whole deal immediately, but I couldn't exactly do that. This all happened in June or july of this year btw. But since then we have been having hard times, but kind of still together untill two weeks ago. She decided that we fight too much, and that we need to relax a little. But lately...the past few days....shes been acting the same way towards me as she was last time when we took the break. Im just wondering if I should expect to have the same thing happen all over again as last time. Just last night I was on the phone with her, and she was in the car with her friend who was on the phone with someone else also. And my ex told me she was going out with some people. And then like seconds later I overheard he friend saying "I dont know what Im doing, shes going on a date"....And I asked if I heard right, and my ex was like no no no, "I promise its not a date". I said ok, because Ive been through too much crap for her to let it get to me too much. But she kept calling me as if to make sure I wasnt upset. She even insisted she call me when she got out of the shower before she went out. I hate being in the position I'm in. I would do too much for this girl, and I already have, but I will again. I dont need people telling me what to do here on this forum. I wont take advice anyway. But what I want to know is whether this seems to be the same pattern as the first time she decided she wanted something new....I want to be prepared when I hear her say she has found someone else. I wish I could make her feel this way....but I wish it upon no one, so even if I could I wouldnt.

Thanks for reading all this BS,
Paul

I didn't read it. I might consider it if you add some line breaks.

I didn't read it either but I am going to make an educated guess and say...

How to get her off your mind...?

...is the question you want answered?

Well than that's easy. You are obviously a Male, and she is a Female, whom you care about for whatever reasons you stated in the above post which I didn't bother reading.

But the answer is simple. Time. Wait it out.

[edit]

Doubling back and reading a small amount of the original post has lead me to modify my original response somewhat.

So my suggestion is now : move on without her, and once again, wait it out.

Break it off, move on with your life. Don't keep dragging out this unhealthy relationship.

Don't call her anymore*. It sounds like she has changed and moved on. It is time for you to do the same.

*I have learned this from personal experience. Time will take of this.

99% of the posts will say "dump the b!tch"

OP will ignore 100% of the said 99% who say "dump the b!tch"

1% of the posts will say "dude, there's still hope..."

OP will rely on those 1% to hang onto any shred of hope...thus making his life more unbearable.

the pattern is unmistakable.

OP will be shopping for gifts for the chick like that liar\sucker in the other "my girlfriend's a whore, what should i do?" thread.

I think you should just break it up. It's tearing you up. How old are you? How old is she? Usually, when you guys are younger, you don't know what you want. There are plenty of girls out there. Just search for others.

You just have to forget about her.

Try your darndest to find another girl... The jealousy factor might get her to come back to you... but if not, you have a new girl :D
