How to get Google now to give driving directions to a contact address?

Lets say I have a contact, John Smith, stored in my phone. I have his address stored under his name, but I don't know his address by memory. How can I get Google now to give me driving directions to his address? I try asking "Driving directions to John Smith" but it doesn't work. Neither does "Open Contact John Smith." What is the fastest way to get directions to his address on google now?

Make sure to have Contacts selected in "Google Settings" menu and assign the person's name on speed dial for higher priority? Just guessing here.

For me, "Take me to John Smiths House" has worked.

Yeah it i just say navigate to so and so. The reason I say that is if it doesn't get part of it, it usually adjusts if I say navigate to.

it's:

Get directions: "Navigate to Safeway" or "Directions to 1299 Colusa Avenue Berkeley California."

Maybe "Driving directions" instead of just "directions" throws it off?

Yeah, "Navigate to..." works for me.

Thank you. I tried "Navigate to John Smith" and it pulls up the contact with the address at the bottom!

What is strange about this is "driving directions to 1234 elm street" will work, and so will "driving directions to Walmart." But not "driving directions to John Smith."
