How to get Geforce 2 to work with Linux

I'm installing Red Hat 6.2, but I can't get the video card to work. I have an Asus V7700. I thought I could use a generic VGA card to get into linux and then install some driver or something, but as soon as X windows starts the screen gets all funky. If someone knows how to properly configure this I would really love the help.
