How is Ikea even comparable to a place like Home Depot or Lowes?
They both sell particleboard?

London!? Take the tube! Last time I was in London I was never more than a 10min walk from a station. Since everything at Ikea is build it yourself you will be carrying a small box. It might be a bit heavy but shouldn't be too bad if you are within walking distance of a tube station.
BTW are you a Brit or a foreigner living in London? If the later what's it like, I'd love to live there!
I thought Lowes competes with Home Depot... not Ikea.
Well apparently enough to shut down stores.
Lowes just closed down here leaving only Home Depot and Ikea.
fun fact- closest ikea to me is in atlanta (300 miles or so?).
i believe shipping is calculated using item cost times eleventy million. plus two.
why do they even have an online store?

it just seems like a poor business model to set up a website with furniture that ships in flat boxes, then ask $100 to ship a $40 table.
