How to get date & time stamped on a mini dv video?

Hello Frnds!

I have a old Mini DV Cassette which I want to capture along with it's date & time stamp which is not there on the video! Searching online, I found two softwares for this - Vdts & Dvdate. I have tried both but the issue in both of them is that they are displaying an incorrect date of the video recorded. However, although both of the softwares are showing the same date but it's incorrect as the recording was not done in that year or not even on that date!

Can someone pls. tell me the cause for this wrong date/time being displayed by these softwares? Also, pls. tell me any solution to get the correct date+time stamp on the video!!

Pls. Need it urgently!! Pls. Help!!

DV has time code baked in. Not sure why you'd want it to show on the video.

How can that date & time be shown onto the video?
I need it as an evidence for my official use..

If two different apps give the same date, that must be the date, irrespective of what you expected it to be. Those apps don't create any date out of thin air, they just display what they read in the data.
Maybe your memory is mistaken.

Or, maybe, the original camcorder had a wrong date set when the video was captured. In which case, you are SOL.
