How to get Bios from Asus website without buying a new 'unzip?'

I'm becoming more and more disgruntled with building a computer. First I had a problem with the device driver (sata drivers). Now My computer after formatting the hard drive does not want to recognize it is there again. I'm trying to download the latest drivers from www.asus.com website and I can download the zip just fine. But when I keep on getting bombarded with 'for x amount of $$$ you can buy this 'unzip' program, it tends to kill whatever joy I had in spending tons of time on this build.

If anyone can give me any insight as to the most useable zip program or any shareware 'zip' programs out there, please let me know.

Try FilZip 3.0 at www.filzip.com. It's free and you don't have to register unless you feel like it.

Why don't you buy a license for Winzip? Its not like ZIP files are some rare thing you might encounter only twice every year. I bought a license for Winzip about six years ago. I think it was $10 cheaper then, but every new version since has been a free upgrade for registered users.

BTW, Windows ME and XP have a decompression utility built-in that will handle ZIP files if it is installed from Add/Remove Windows Components.

Winzip 8.0 is free. I see that the newer version 9.0 is now only useable for 21 days, then you have to buy a license. However, I am still using 8.0 with no problems and no $$. (You'll have to enter "Winzip 8.0" in the search box on that page to get to it.)

"aladdin systems" is a free download that will unzip anything. Finding the link may be difficult, but google is your best bet.
