How to get an application folder in dock in leopard?

Just drag the folder from the Finder window and drop it on the dock. You can only put it on the area past the white bars - not in the applications section but next to the trash can and other folders. Think of it like the Quick Start bar in Windows...

Just 1 quick question...i tried doing that but cancelled it. The reason being that it started copying 900+ megs....I interpretted this as creating anotehr applicaiton folder rather than linking to it. Am I correct in this respect?

Uhhh that's really weird...yes, it simply creates a link. Maybe it's just creating shortcuts for Stacks?
