How to get a photo ID in MA? Not drivers license.

My buddy needs to get a valid photo ID, and he asked me where to go for one, but I couldn't give him an answer. For some reason I told him I thought the post office was a good place to start. Anyone have any ideas?

dmv...before i had my drivers license i had an identification card taken at the dmv

yeah DMV has just regular IDs. I think they are $25 or $30
