How to get a girl to like me, again.

So I met this girl, and we were really hitting things off. We both enjoyed each others' company, and couldn't get enough of each other. We both wanted to get more serious, but then she caught me on a bad day. I was in a horrible mood. We were chatting on AIM and our conversation led into something of a debate...a little later down the line, it was no longer friendly and we were both taking shots at each other. Being the fool I am, I didn't hold back and said some really nasty and out of line things.

From that point on, she has basically decided to ignore me, won't talk on the phone, AIM and doesn't want to see me in person. I can understand her being upset, and I know a screwed up, but now I just want to know if you guys have any ideas on what I can say or do to TRY to get her to forgive me. Yeah, I know the damage has been done...but I am optimistic.
