How do I format XP?
I kind of like 98se better, XP feels bloated to me. I tried format C: and its giving me somethign like "cant run this program under DOS" can someone get me a step by step way to do this?

you should boot from cd... it gives you the option to format your HD or convert it to NTFS... Can't run from dos most likely since you're typing in setup... that doesn't work anymore for win2k or winxp

You will have to change your "boot sequence" in your BIOS from "A, C, SCSI" (or whatever it is) to "CDROM, C, A" (it may be different, but make sure the first one is CDROM). Then have the disc ready in your drive, reboot, it will detect the boot sectors on the CD and say "bootable CDROM detected, blah blah blah" and then it will use the boot sectors. Then the familiar setup screen will show up, and the sequence of screens will guide you through the rest.

The boot form CD-ROM thing in bios didnt work.....
It didnt recognized the CD
Is there any other way i can do this?

You can use a Win9x boot disk. It wont see the drive if its NTFS, so you must run fdisk to delete the partition and reformate it.
