How to format HD for Win XP installation

Newbie question...I have win2k (NTFS formatted HD) installed currently and want to install a clean copy of WinXP. How do I reformat my HD so I can intall WinXP. Is there a way I can make a boot disk which will let me format my HD..something like the Win98 boot disk.

Thanks for the help!

Just set your bios to have the cdrom bootable. Then during the install process there is a formatting section where you can get rid of your old partitions and create a new one and format it.

Thanks for the reply.....
Is there a way to avoid deleting and creation of the existing partition to be able to Format? The other half of the partition contains personal data and I would hate to loose it because of a mistake.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

XP will let you choose which partition you would like to format...so just choose the partition you want to format and you should be ok...thats how it worked for me at least.
