How to format and partition?

I have 4 x 40 Giga set up as RAID 0. That array is recognized as one 160 MB drive by Windows. Now I want to format the sucker. I know I can do this with "format".

Question:
What are the paramenters for the "format" command, when I want to create 2 partions, boths with 20 Giga on the drive?

thanx

I beleive you want to FDISK not format to partition your drives. I this is what I have done for Windows OS es. I have never used drives set up in RAID format so I dont know if that makes a difference.

I'm totally confused now.

a) First I format the disk with "format"
b) then a partition with "Fdisk"

But how do I specify that I want to have 2 partitons with the size of 20 Gigabyte

Here is my .02 When I really want to "blast" a drive, I prefer to use a utility to write it so zeros. In other words, not even a format is there. On a RAID 0 setup you will need to do this to each drive seperately by unplugging all but one and running the utility if you choose to go this route. I do this to ensure that there is no doubt that everything is gone from the drive and not just the paths to it is erased. Depending on the type of drives you have there is probably a utility available from the manufacturer especially for this if you check their web site. I then prefer to use Partition Magic to format and partition the fresh drive(s). Partition Magic is the best software that I have ever purchased and you won't be sorry that you spent the money.
I have all my systems setup on RAID 0+1 arrays with either Promise FastTrak 66 or 100 cards so I do have a little experience in this area. I'm sure that my method is over-kill but I am an over-kill kinda guy.😀
