i'm going win2k/ME dual boot with the following partitions (all on a single 30 gig HD)

c: ME (2 gig)
d: win2k (2 gig)
e: apps (13 gig)
f: mp3z/files/downloads (8 gig)
g: games (5 gig)

ok, so what i did first was format and partion. i then installed ME, but it was a bad install (surprise surprise). anyways, i went to install win2k (i was gonna fix ME later) and the setup program tells me that i have no hard drives..?!?!! i'm guessing this is because i formatted and partitioned the drives on a FAT32 file system and the setup didn't recgonize any drives that it could install itself onto. buuuuuutttt, i thought that win2k was able to install on a FAT 32...

wth...???

is my problem w/ the win2k setup the fact that i'm only adding FAT 32 partitions? if so, how do i format and partition so that my win2k partition is FAT 16 while the other 4 partitions are FAT 32? i'm assuming fdisk will take care of this, but i'm not entirely positive as to the order/details that i need to go through. please advise!

When you say that w2k can't recongnise your hdd. You won't be running it on a U66 or U100 controller? Not the primary IDE1+2 on your motherboard??

Not is the drive ata100, but is the controller on your motherboard? If so, you need to get the drivers to make them work under win2k and then install them during your install process.

whats your mobo?
mostly, you have to press f6 while installing and load the drivers for the IDe controller first
