How to force hardware to work?

I've had this problem before. After a fresh install, 2K picks up and installs the drivers for my 3com ISA nic. I removed the card (a test machine) I uninstalled the drivers before i removed it.and when i put it back in, windows does not see it. No plug and play, nothing. How can i force this card to function again?

I have attempted to do this before. I selected the card from the list, and selected irq and I/O Range that had no conflicts. But got a code 10 on reboot.

Anyone here know how to pull this off?

Thanks
