I have a poster that has been rolled up for maybe a year. The poster is pretty heavy paper. It's been sitting flat under heavy books for a couple of weeks but it still curls when I lay it flat. Any ideas how to get it to flatten out? I think it's been rolled up for so long that lying it flat under weights will not work. I don't think it's possible to roll the poster up in the opposite direction without damaging it.

So I guess you want to hang it, but it's resisting too much? You could buy a cheap frame for it, which would keep it flat and make it look better on the wall anyway.

heat and moisture should relax the paper fibers assuming it isnt one of those theatrical double sided printed types. lay it out in a sunbeam with books weighing it down, cover with a towel if you are worried about fading. you could try hanging it in the bathroom after you take a shower and let the steam hit it.

Why glue over canvas? If the canvas is getting completely covered that seems like an extra expense for no reason. Just build or buy a basic wood frame and glue to that.
