Front main seal can leak straight down the front of the oil pan... and from your picture the front of the oil pan looks well coated. Just a thought.

Take a drill with a small metal bit and drill a little hole on one of the bolts sidewalls > pointing towards the direction to unscrew it.

Spray penetrating lubricant onto it > let it sit a day or 2.

Stick something sharp into the hole and tap it with a hammer to rotate the bolt around.

:)

Seems like a complicated way to loosen a seized oil pan plug... but not repair a stripped one...

Threat title says STRIPPED oil pan plug.

There is NO repairing a stripped one, you get it off and replace with a new one (they are not expensive by any means).

You're assuming he meant that the head of the plug was rounded. Reading the thread shows that the OP clearly thinks that the threads in the pan that the plug screws into are stripped. These can definitely be repaired.

that pan looks like its rusting thru...alot of fords and early to mid 90's chevys did that...

looking at the photo enlarged...its definitely rusting out...clean the pan off with brake clean and watch it leak thru the rust...will only take a few minutes to start i bet
