i know its the wrong forum but nobody answers in Techinical Support

Its odd, my soundcard works fine, I can hear AIM messages but I can't litsen to music or hear sound efects from games and etc.

Maybe one of the volume settings (not the main one) is muted or really low on your sound card's control center.

i checked it, everything is fine

Has it EVAR worked? When did it stop working? You on XP?

Goto control panel and open "Sounds" second tab then click something in "Program Events" and hit the play icon at the top. Did you hear anything?

i checked everything u guys mentioned so far

even the sound tests, the sound tests work fine... but i still can't hear my music which is strange cuz it says that its picking up the music

Sorry. If you're just going to sit there and so "It doesn't work" over and over, then I think I will just go boil an egg or something.

More than likely it is High Def audio and requires a HDA Bus driver. Search on google for probably Intel AC'97 Audio drivers. Pull out your drivers, install that one and the re-install your original drivers on top of AC'97. Assuming you have Intel motherboard.

hmm, it was because of that stupid CMI audio config program
I uninstalled it and it works fine now... Windows self installed it, saying that it was an update.... i don't want or need one geez..

but thanks for the help anyway guys 🙂
