Long story short, I didn't set the time/date on my new camera and my early pics on there are set to the wrong date, whats the easiest way to fix this ?
If you only want to change the date on a large batch of photos and leave the rest of the EXIF information intact, this looks promising. I haven't used it myself but it seems to be exactly what you need. There is a "free" and a "pro" version. The free version only works on JPG files.
Judging by your icon -- are you a Linux user? I have used exiftool (command-line) on OSX and it's done the trick for me. You have to be careful to use the right syntax, but once you do it's fairly easy to adjust the date, either absolute (set date to a particular date) or relative (adjust +/- days, minutes, hours, etc.).
