I just installed a new hard drive and now all of my drive are screwed up in windows. I've done this many times before, but for some reason I have forgotten how to fix the problem. So does anyone know how to change drive letters in Win98?

Windows 98 does not support reassignment of hard drive letters.

Windows 95, 98 and ME (along with DOS), assign letters to Primary Partitions first, and then logical partitions inside extended partitions, and networked or CD drives last.

There is a way to force it to take the letters you want it to take, I've done 4 or 5 times before, because this happens everytime I install new drive and I always get the letters figured. I just forgot how to do it because it has been a while.

Well, in class I remembered how to do it :). You just don't make a primary partition, just make a extended partition.

One the #1 Master I have primary, on my other 3 drives there is no primary partition. So the order of letter is:
C:\ #1 Master Primary
D:\ #1 Master Logical 1
E:\ #1 Slave Logical 1
F:\ #1 Slave Logical 2
G:\ #2 Master Logical 1

etc
