How to Fix Alarm not Working in iOS 12

This is an important and a basic feature in an iPhone. If users are experiencing issues related to alarm or its function, here are some steps to resolve it.

Step 1
Check ‘Ringer Volume’

This is the first parameter that should be checked when you happen to encounter issues with Alarm. Media volume is entirely different from Ringer volume. The intensity of sound depends on the Ringer volume meter. Even though the phone’s mute switch is on, the alarm would still ring when the ringer volume is turned on.

Step 2
Check ‘Sound’

Click on the 'Clock App' in your phone screen, click 'Alarm Tab' and tap 'Edit' button. Set alarm and ensure that the sound is selected from the list of preferred sounds.

Step 3
Check ‘Third Party Apps’

Check if any third party alarm apps are installed, as they are not recommended by Apple, and they may cause conflict with the stock clock app that is preinstalled in iPhone. Remove those apps and restart phone once and check if the alarm works fine. If not, proceed to step 4.

Step 4
Try ‘Reboot’

Try resetting phone and check if alarm is working fine. Hold the home button and the ‘Sleep/Wake’ button at the same time until the screen turns off and release the buttons once apple logo appears. This would reboot your device. Once it is rebooted, make sure the issue is fixed.

Step 5
Check ‘Reset All Settings’

Check resetting the 'Network Settings' when the issue still persists. Click ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Reset’ > ‘Reset Network Settings’.
