Airdrop is a feature that lets two iOS devices connect wirelessly. Here broadcast is done by Bluetooth and transfer is achieved by Wi-Fi. It is simple and secure.
To connect two devices via Airdrop, ensure both the devices are Airdrop compatible. Older models devices are not compatible with Airdrop. If both are compatible, proceed to step 1. Mac from 2012 using OS X Yosemite are later are compatible. iPhone or iPad or iPod using iOS 7 or later are compatible.
Step 1
Adjust ‘Airdrop’
In your iPhone click ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Airdrop’. Click on Everyone if the sender is not on your contact list.
In case if the receiver is a Mac, open Airdrop from the finder and enable discoverability to everyone and check if the sender or receiver is found within the radius.
Step 2
Try ‘Resetting’
If step one doesn’t work, try rebooting your device. If it works, then good; if not, try resetting the network settings.
Click on settings from the home screen. ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Reset’ > ‘Reset Network Settings’ > ‘Passcode’ >
‘Reset Network Settings’
Once done with the reset, reconnect to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and check again. Hope these steps help fix the issue.
