how to find out when did you laptop first used?

I bought this used laptop and I am wondering how long had the original owner used it. the battery was first used in 03/2003. the BIOS was installed in 03/2003. does it tell me something?

If it still has the original install of XP, type 'systeminfo' a command prompt. One of the items listed will be the original install date. My thinkpad has the install date as the first day I turned it on.

some companies will tell you when a warranty ran out if you put in the serial number

You will have to go by the manufacturing date (should be within 3 months of purchase). The BIOS will tell you nothing due to BIOS upgrades or even a BIOS that came out before that machine was even put together. Windows information would have been the best, but it was reloaded so you are out of luck there. Post the type/serial number info here and I can lookup the manufacturer/warranty information.
