how to find out what type of vid card I have?

This forum is ALWAYS faster... what software can I run for free to find out??
I need to re install driver.

type "dxdiag" (without quotes) in run (Windows+R)
click on the "Display" tab
Device: Name: will show what your card is

This is assuming you have Windows.

go to the video forums and let them find out.

better yet tell them you have an Nvidia card and you want to switch to ATi

Open Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>Display Adapters>Action>Uninstall

Keep doing that until the screen goes blank. That was it. Then click undo to undo it.

wow... I didn't know that people still opened the Device Manager by going to the Control Panel.

devmgmt.msc FTW.
