Ok I helped my aunt trash 2 of her systems, and as a result I have a whole bunch of PCI cards. I have no idea what their brands are, so I cannot test them to see if they work. Is there a special code on them that can help me determine their brand and model? Where do i look it up?

thanks.

Model number searches usually work well too; even generic cards have model numbers. If all else fails, you can use a generic driver for whatever chip is on the card. (You can pull them out and reinstall them one by one so you know what each "unknown" device is in Device Manager.)

There is no number clearly labeled FCC... what is the format of that number (does it have a set # of digits/letters, etc)? Also, where do I search by FCC#?

Some have labels... for example I have 2 video cards that say Trident on them. But they look very different, so I am assuming they are different models... I am wondering if its worth my time, trying to find drivers in order to sell this stuff.

if it is a trident card... look at the chips on the card... there is usually some kinda # identifying the chipset. then u just look it up on google.
