How to find (and change) my Diablo II CD Key

The Sauce

Here's the story: I threw out my cd case with the serial number by accident and subsequently deleted the game. I recently wanted to reinstall the game and play so I used an "incorrect" (aka, not mine) serial number. I then discovered that I had actually been smart enough to write MY serial on the Install Disk. So now I want to replace the serial number with mine. I scanned through the registry and could not find it. Any ideas?

Its probably in the registry.

In half life, you can just delete "key" in the registry and when you start HL again, it will ask for the key.

you have to reinstall the game.. the serial is encoded in one of the .mpg(spelling?) files.. there is no way to change your serial no..
