I got a 2yr old male dog.. as we're moving to apartment, i'm trying to find my doggy a nice home, but can't find it...

I'm trying to find a dog shelter or local pound.. but no avail .. if anyone know a place to donate a dog in Orange county, CA . or have experienced such matters, any feedback will be appreciated.

thanks

a pound will probably put him down within a week.
a shelter might give him a little longer.

go to all the vets in your area and talk to the vets about helping you.
find a no kill shelter.

Is your dog cute? If not they're putting sparky to sleep after a month or two. I don't mean to sound harse, but that's what happens :(.

Classified ads/friends are the best way to place your dog. Good luck.

can't you ask a family member or friend to take him?
That's cold sending him to a shelter....a pet is part of the family.

Explain please. Who are you talking about, the OP, or the people who are responding?

if you have a dog, why would you move to a place that doesn't allow pets?

living animals are disposable like old pieces of furniture?

Quite possibly something came up. Maybe its all they could find that they could afford. You don't know the whole story. Probably wise to keep the "selfish" comments to your self until you find out the entire story.

Find your local Humane Society. THey will work the hardest to find the dog a home and not just kill it.

IT DOESN'T MATTER. I'D SOONER LIVE ON THE STREET THAN LIVE A PLACE MY DOG WASN'T ALLOWED.

Exactly. Drive a little farther if you have to, find a place that allows pets. As another person said, animals are not disposable. If you really gave two sh!ts about your dog, this wouldnt even be an issue, but apparently you don't.

Ya know, i think i'm gonna move to a 55+ community where they don't allow kids. They have orphanages still, dont they?

How irresponsible. Why not move into an apt that allows dogs? Or are you one of those morons that went out and bought a Dalmatian after seeing 101 Dalmatians only to give it away when it wasn't "cute" anymore? At least you claim that you don't want the poor pooch to die.

This kinda stuff makes me want to flip out!!! I see people every year at the dog park with their cute little puppies. They show up for about 2-3 months EVERY FRIGGIN DAY. Then, *poof* you never see them again.

A guy in my neighborhood gave away his sweet little dachsund, I was so angry. At least he gave it to a good home though (his coworker's daughter). Then these college kids got a Yorkie and never bothered to try and train it. So it was wild. They sent it back home.

*shaking head*
