Why do you think you need a rebuild? Unless something is obviously wrong don't bother.

I guess I'm wanting to prevent MAJOR problems if something big were to go wrong. Maybe just me being OCD or something lol.

A rebuild won't cost more if there's a failure first. You'll still have to go through all the same steps for a quality rebuild. At that rate, you might as well buy a junkyard engine and rebuild that one. Then you just swap them out whenever you like. Without time constraints the quality of the job will likely be better.

Concur. Doesn't sound like there's any reason for a rebuild. Hopefully his mechanic would say the same.

Hmmmmm......didn't think it about it that way. Yeah, sounds like I'll just hold off then.

It would be kinda cool/fun to get a different engine to rebuild........of course I say that now before I know what I'm getting myself into lmao.

Thx to all for the info :)

An engine rebuild is going to cost a LOT more than just the parts, plus opening a factory engine that otherwise works fine is just asking for trouble.

If you want to put a different motor in it, start researching the Gen4 3SGTE (or send the car to Prime). ;)
