How to "extract" serial number from Nero

I need to reformat my hard drive and original Nero Download is no where to be found. Since it was a retail download I need to extract the serial number from the program before I reformat. Any ideas where this is located? Nero 5.5.9.17 BTW. Thanks in advance.

You can look in your registry. It's located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Info.
