how to export accounts and settings from thunderbird?

can find the function to import such things from Outlook Express, but not to export them to a file so i can reformat the machine and just import them again

can thunderbird export email account settings?

copying the thunderbird dir seems like the fastest and easiest way (imo).
always has worked fine for me.

C:\Documents and Settings\usrname\Application Data\Thunderbird

copy and pasting the folder has always worked well for me too

if some extensions are installed in the thunderbird program dir (thunderbird\thunderbird.exe), you would have to backup some files from that dir, too.
