I have a Dell XPS 15 laptop that I will be using for the next month. It has a 640m graphics and intel HD onboard graphics.

Is there a way to force one chipset to be used, or make sure the proper one is in use during a game?

Also, is the 640m any good?

Thanks for the help. Concerned that it may not be switching to the 640m when launching a game.

When you launch a game, you can right click on it and tell it to use the nVidia chipset as I recall. You should have an nVidia menu item on the contextual menu. Pretty sure thats how it works on my Dell Precision anyway. I don't game on it often.

The 640M will be faster than the Intel graphics. But it is not what I would consider to be a fast card. Should play average games decently though on medium settings.
