how to enable video in?

i have a msi ti4200 vtd8x. it has video in but i don't know how to use it. i want to connect it to a vcr to record a movie. there's a software that came with it "intervideo winproducer". please help.
 
have you installed that software? i've used video in several times with different cards/configurations, and each time, i needed specific software to make it work.
 
yeah i tried installing the software but when i click select input devices, my vcr doesn't show. i also installed the latest wdm drivers for nvidia.
