Just wondering

tried bios settings s1, s2 and s3
when i hit Suspend, the pc comes back into XP ok but after 30 seconds automatically restarts.

This is the case with USB devices attached and not attached.

all i want to do is to be able to suspend this thing and restart pc from a mouse click or keyboard from the last position.

Any ideas of the proper procedure or links appreciated

Thanks

does HIBERNATE work properly?

I know you are asking for suspend, but maybe there is a tie in there somewhere...

Also, is the BIOS up to date?

Either of those may correct/ lead to the solution...

hi,

hibernate option comes up when i press shift key after start-shown down.

problem that persists is after coming back to windows - its unresponsive and it reboots itself after a minute or two.

The bios is the latest.

Any paticular bios settings i need?

Ive tried S3 and S1, its no go!

I'm not really sure, as I don't have the same type of system. (Still on MidTower). I do know that when I come out of standby, there is a rather lenghty pause before things are 100% running again, so maybe you have some "errant" application that is getting pissed and forcing a restart. Try killing off all running apps, and unnessessary processes, and try to see if standby works properly under a "minimized" environment. Outside of that, I am at a loss.

*Edited for an inability to spell properly.
