Hello, my monitor was working fine.

PRISM M27EQ REAL165
1ms TN Panel 1440p

It just stopped allowing me to use anything above 120hz. I was out of town for weekend, came back and noticed it not working.

I have an RX 580. I use a display port cable, I tried all the display ports on my video card. I'm unable to access higher refresh rate than 120hz through windows.

I could use help... I have no idea if it's a driver issue, a windows conflict or anything... anybody good with monitor configuration?

Maybe this will help:
If you have Win 7 right click mouse on the desktop then Screen Resolution then Advanced Settings then Monitor and you can choose refresh rate.

I received new DP cable, still can only access up to 120hz via windows. It was working, not it's not. I did nothing to cause it to change. Can someone knowledgeable please help?

Once upon a time, with an older TN LCD monitor back when I was on a Core2Quad and had Win7 64-bit installed, my monitor suddenly wouldn't show up as native res.

The solution in my case, was to drain all power from the monitor to reset it.

Try unplugged both video and power connections to the monitor, press the power button once or twice, let it sit for an hour, and then plug things back in, AC power first.

Then reboot the PC, and see if it picks it up properly as a PnP monitor, using the EDID data.

That's what happened in my case, the monitor got power-glitched, and was no longer reporting proper EDID data, and Windows was using some generic subset to set the resolution and refresh rate.

Edit: Might have to go into Device Manager and delete the Monitor device as well, to force Windows to re-detect and re-cache the EDID info, once it starts getting returned correctly from the LCD monitor.
