I have a GEForce GTS card that supports this.
There is an option (under the BOOT section, I believe) that mentions something about video cache.

The allowed settings are: UC, and UCWS.

Is this the fast write setting?
Sorry, I am at work, so I don't remember the exact syntax.

USWC....unspeculative write caching.....it speeds up video operations between RAM. Most modern video cards support this feature and gain about 1FPS or so more.

UC is uncached. This is used for cards that can't handle USWC, like the S3 Virge.

Switch it to USWC. This is a separate setting and nothing to do with Fast Writes. This setting is only found on motherboards for Pentium Pros and later (P6 class).
