How to enable Facebook Time line?

Yes im new to the party, never having had a FB acct till 2 days ago. I know the timeline feature has to be enabled to use it right? The green TL button is there at the bottom of the screen, but when i click it, it tells you to log in then after that what needs to happen?

I just never see any options to enable timeline after logging in, frustrating, any ideas? thanks!
