How to enable dual channel?

Just checked CPU-Z and it turns out my RAM is running single channel. All three RAM slots on my mobo are the same shade of Gamecube purple, and I have the middle one empty (was getting RAM overheating errors when I first built the PC and had the sticks next to each other). Here is the CPU-Z report. Can I enable dual channel with my RAM/mobo? Thanks.

look in the manual. there should a section that tells you what slots to use for dual channel

Usually all you need to do is install 2 matched sticks inthe proper slots. As THEMAN mentioned, you need to check the mobo manual to find out which slots.

Sometimes - but rarely - there may also be a setting you need to enable in BIOS.

Here is the manual for my mobo. It starts talking about memory at page 34. It doesn't seem to specify which slots to use, unless that table on page 35 is relevant. But the last configuration for 2 DIMMs seems to be what I have set up (this is X8, right?).

So, would that indicate that it's a BIOS setting or am I missing something?

After checking the spec sheet for that motherboard, I would say it doesn't support dual channel mode.

Yeah, although technically it's the CPU that doesn't support dual-channel mode, since Socket754 CPUs only have one memory controller enabled. But same difference in the end :)

Ah. Well, that's me looking stupid then. Thanks for pointing that out, even if it is bad news.

By the way, I mucked up the link for the manual, it's actually here.
