How to enable brower redirection for login in FC4?

I am using FC4 on Dell 600m with Intel 2200 wireless card. The card and driver
work fine with a network without login. However, my school network needs
login when one evoke a brower ( I am using firefox ), and the wireless
connection is allowed thereafter.

Under Windows XP, this works fine. When I first evoke firfox, it will be
redirected to a login page, and I input my username and password. However,
under FC4, the browser will simply say " .... not found", and will never be
redirected to the login page. What is the possible problem? Thanks a lot!
 
Either that or enter the school's proxy server address into the proxy server line under Tools>Internet Options.

Apart from trying the various options until it works, the best way to find out what you need to do is ask your school's network admin what you need to do in order to connect to their network.
